  1. How do I choose my free embedded D20 from previous Ember Dice sets?

All VIP backers will receive a free embedded D20 from our previous Ember Dice collections as part of their pledge. After the campaign ends, you’ll be able to choose which D20 you’d like directly through the Pledge Manager (BackerKit). A selection of designs will be available there, and you can pick your favorite once surveys go out — no rush during the live campaign.

  1. Do VIP backers receive discounts on add-ons?

Yes! One of the key VIP perks is exclusive reduced prices on selected add-ons, including items like the Vanguard Vault, Throne, and extra dice set. These discounts will be automatically applied in the Pledge Manager, based on your VIP pledge tier. Please note that Kickstarter itself doesn’t support tier-specific discounts, so these special prices will appear only after the campaign ends, inside BackerKit.

  1. Do VIP backers receive priority shipping?

Absolutely. VIP pledges will be the first wave of shipments once production is completed and the Pledge Manager closes. This means your Vanguard set will be crafted, packed, and shipped before all other pledge tiers, ensuring you receive your rewards ahead of the main fulfillment wave.

How do I claim my Vanguard VIP rewards and discount?

Every VIP backer should have received an email with their private pledge link — this link takes you directly to your VIP-exclusive pledge level, where your rewards and discounts are already applied.

If you can’t find the email (it sometimes hides in spam folders), just message us at [email protected] , and we’ll resend your VIP link right away.

How do I choose the color of my Vanguard Set?

You’ll be able to choose your preferred color variant — Knight’s Plate Silver or Sunburst Gold — in the Pledge Manager (BackerKit) after the campaign ends. There’s no need to decide during the live Kickstarter; you’ll make your final selection once surveys are sent out.

Yes. Every Vanguard die is individually cast, finished, and tested to ensure exceptional balance and performance. Our designs are engineered with precise weight distribution—all internal surfaces, numbering depths, and reliefs are carefully adjusted so that the dice roll true and consistently. While each piece is handcrafted and may have the subtle character of artisanal work, the rolling fairness meets or exceeds what you’d expect from precision metal dice used in tabletop gaming.

Will I have to pay customs or import tariffs if I’m in the United States?

No, you won’t. All Vanguard Kickstarter rewards for U.S. backers will be shipped directly from within the United States. We’ve partnered with our trusted U.S. fulfillment hubs to handle all local logistics and customs clearance on our side.

This means that when your rewards arrive, there will be:

  • No additional customs charges

  • No import tariffs

  • No unexpected fees upon delivery

Your package will ship domestically within the U.S., ensuring a smoother and faster delivery process for all American backers.

What materials are the Vanguard Dice made from?

The Vanguard Dice are made using sustainable, recycled metals, primarily white brass and bronze alloys sourced from reclaimed materials such as vintage fittings, doorknobs, and nautical components. We re-melt, purify, and cast these metals in-house, ensuring that every set carries a story and a second life. All production is done locally in Greece, following strict environmental and ethical standards, with zero plastic packaging and full recyclability across the production chain.

How do I take care of my Vanguard Dice?

Your Vanguard Dice are crafted from recycled brass, and what you see is the natural color of the metal itself, not paint, plating, or imitation finishes. After each die is finished, we apply a transparent protective varnish to help preserve its shine and prevent tarnishing over time.

If, after long use or exposure to moisture, your die begins to darken slightly, don’t worry. This is just the brass developing a natural patina. You can easily restore its original luster by gently rubbing it with a piece of fine steel wool and then reapplying a light coat of clear glossy varnish.

That’s all it takes to keep your Emberforged heirloom shining for years to come.

Where are the Vanguard Dice made?

All Vanguard Dice are hand-crafted in our studio in Athens, Greece, by the small artisan team of Ember Forge. From digital sculpting to casting, polishing, and finishing, every step happens locally under our direct supervision. This ensures full quality control and supports a sustainable, ethical production chain.

Are there any production risks or delays expected?

While we have extensive experience running successful crowdfunding campaigns, minor delays can sometimes occur due to casting or finishing bottlenecks. We’ve already prepared molds, workflows, and local partnerships to minimize this. If delays arise, we’ll communicate openly and ensure the final product meets our standards before shipping.

When will the Pledge Manager open?

The Pledge Manager (BackerKit) will open roughly one month after the campaign ends and stay open for 1–2 months. You’ll receive an email invitation where you can confirm your shipping address, choose color variants, and select add-ons.

Can the dice damage wooden tables?

Because of their solid metal weight, we recommend using a dice tray or soft surface when rolling. (And yes—we’ve made a Vanguard Dice Tray precisely for that purpose!)

I confirmed my address but haven’t received a tracking number yet. Is that normal?

Yes, that’s completely normal! Tracking numbers are only generated once fulfillment begins, when we start packing and labeling each individual order. Verifying your address simply helps us prepare the shipping database — it doesn’t mean your order has been dispatched yet.

Once we move into the fulfillment phase, you’ll receive your tracking number automatically via email. We’ll also post regular updates to keep everyone informed as shipping progresses.

Please expect your tracking information to arrive around the time fulfillment officially begins.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
